Oppo is bringing its Find X9 series with batteries beyond 7000 mAh to Europe, but Germany will remain on the sidelines for the time being.

The manufacturer Oppo is particularly early with its top models of the Find X9 series and is now offering them globally shortly after their launch in China—unfortunately not in Germany. However, the new top smartphones are worth a look, as they are the first to be offered in Europe with huge batteries beyond 7000 mAh. Oppo also offers a plug-in lens with 10x optical zoom for the devices.
The Find X9 Pro follows the Find X8 Pro, which, like its predecessor, is equipped with a MediaTek chip. The Find X9 (and 9 Pro) uses the chip developer's latest top chip, the Dimensity 9500, which performs at roughly the same level as Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
Thick batteries in a slim case
Unlike the top models from other Chinese manufacturers, Oppo is keeping the battery capacity of its new models for the European market. The Find X9 has a massive 7025 mAh battery with silicon-carbon cells, while the Pro model has a 7500 mAh power storage in an 8.25 mm casing. According to Oppo, this should allow for two days of battery life, while competing devices usually have to be plugged in after one day. Despite the massive batteries, the devices are thinner than, for example, Apple's iPhone 17 Pro Max with a height of 7.9 mm, which is 8.75 mm thick; Samsung's 8.2 mm casing of the Galaxy S25 Ultra houses a 5000 mAh battery.

As a rule, Chinese manufacturers reduce the battery sizes of their devices for the European market due to a European transport regulation (ADR). This allows battery cells up to 20 Wh, which corresponds to approximately a 5200 mAh battery. Smartphones with larger battery cells must be declared as dangerous goods, which makes transport both pricier and more difficult, as not every logistics company transports such goods. Oppo circumvents this threshold with a not entirely new trick, as its devices use a dual-cell battery, keeping the individual cells below 20 Wh each.

Charging the batteries is quite fast, with 80 watts wired and 50 watts wireless. However, fast wireless charging requires a proprietary charging dock from the manufacturer.
Triple cameras with an optional teleconverter
In terms of cameras, the Find X9 Pro consists of a 50 MP wide-angle (Sony LYT-828 sensor), a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle (ISOCELL JN5), and a 200 MP telephoto lens (Samsung ISOCELL HP5). The base model is slightly scaled down in terms of cameras and consists of a 50 MP wide-angle (Sony LYT-808 sensor), 50 MP ultra-wide-angle (LYT-600), and a 50 MP telephoto zoom. Those who want more than three times magnification can attach a teleconverter to the Find X9 Pro, which supports up to ten times zoom.
The LTPO OLED display of the Oppo Find X9 measures 6.59 inches and has a resolution of 1256 × 2760 pixels; the Pro model has 6.78 inches with 1272 x 2772 pixels. Both displays are flat and support refresh rates of up to 120 Hz and 3840 Hz PWM dimming, 3600 cd/m² peak brightness, and a minimum brightness of only one cd/m².

On the software side, Oppo's ColorOS 16 based on Android 16 is used. In addition to AI functions like Google's Gemini, the Android overlay offers Windows connectivity and exchange with Apple Macs. For the devices, Oppo promises 5 years of new Android versions and 6 years of security patches.
The new Oppo models will not be offered in Germany, but they will be in Austria; there, the Find X9 with 12 GB RAM and 512 GB costs around 1000 euros. For the Oppo Find X9 Pro with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage, the manufacturer charges just under 1300 euros. The optional teleconverter costs around 500 euros.
While Oppo's models will likely not be officially offered in Germany, it appears to be different with OnePlus 15, a subsidiary of Oppo. The top smartphone could also be offered in this country with a massive 7300 mAh battery thanks to dual-cell technology. At least OnePlus indicates on its website a soon launch.
