Since March 2025, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) has been offering the Clinical Trials Map, an interactive map that bundles information on approved clinical trials in all EU member states. The web-based map allows users to filter specifically by disease, active substance, or geographical location to find relevant studies.

After the platform was initially only available in English, it is now available in all official EU languages, as well as Icelandic and Norwegian. With the updated map, the EMA is responding to the demand for greater transparency and accessibility. Further language versions had already been announced. The EMA emphasizes that the platform is not only intended for patients, who can find details on study participation and inclusion criteria there.

Researchers, medical professionals, and pharmaceutical companies are also expected to benefit from the data. The goal is to promote cross-border collaboration and accelerate access to innovative therapies. For the next five years, according to the EMA, it is planned to include over 500 new multinational studies in the map.
