Google normally only releases one update per month for its Pixel smartphones – and that at the beginning of the month. Now, in addition to the release on October 6th on October 6th, the company has released a second software build for Pixel models 7 to 10 on October 30th. Google does not offer the new version for the Pixel Tablet or the Pixel 6.
Apparently no security patches
While the new software update is already being rolled out widely, Google is still keeping quiet about what exactly the update brings. For example, there is no information about the new version in the support forum yet; the last entry is from October 7th.
In the update notice for Pixel smartphones, Google only states that program errors are to be fixed and performance and stability are to be improved, which are essentially standard statements. US network operator Verizon provides the same information in its changelog. At least Verizon provides information, while Google remains silent on its own support pages.
Given that Google released the update out of schedule, it might be bringing security fixes to the devices that the company is not releasing for the time being due to its new "Risk Based" policy introduced in the summer. However, the fact that the "Security Patch Level" remains unchanged from September 2025 speaks against this.
Since there have been no reports of side effects or bugs so far, the update can be installed without hesitation.

First Pixel Watch with last update
Apart from the Pixel smartphones of the 7th to 10th generation, Google has probably released the last update for its first-generation Pixel Watch. As the manufacturer confirmed in mid-October, the first Pixel Watch will no longer receive a major update to Wear OS 6. This will only be available for the newer models of the Pixel Watches 2 to 4.
Instead, the manufacturer is only providing its 2022 introduced "old" smartwatch with security updates and bug fixes. According to Google, the update is not available for all watches simultaneously, but will be "gradually rolled out in the coming weeks depending on the network operator and device."
