Security vulnerability in Dell Display and Peripheral Manager endangers PCs
A security patch prevents potential attacks on Windows PCs with Dell Display and Peripheral Manager.

If attackers successfully exploit a vulnerability in Dell Display and Peripheral Manager on Windows, they can gain higher user privileges. In a recent version of the software, the developers have closed a security vulnerability. So far, there are no indications of ongoing attacks.
With the application, users manage PC accessories such as keyboards and webcams.
Security Risk
In a security advisory, the vulnerability (CVE-2025-46430) is classified with the threat level “high.” The vulnerability is found in the installer. According to the description, local attackers with low privileges can exploit it there and escalate their access rights in the system. How such an attack could proceed in detail is currently unknown.

The developers assure that the security problem has been resolved in version 2.1.2.12. All previous versions are vulnerable.
