GEMA vs. OpenAI: Defeat for ChatGPT in Munich court

In the dispute over the use of song lyrics, ChatGPT operator OpenAI has suffered a defeat against the German collecting society GEMA. The Munich Regional Court ruled in favor of the plaintiff, GEMA, stating that the US company had infringed copyrights on nine well-known songs—from “Atemlos” to “Männer.”
