The second generation of smart glasses replaces the Even Realities G1, which was launched in 2024. Both products have a display and microphones; unlike the Ray-Ban Meta glasses, however, they have no speakers or camera.
The small heads-up display uses a combination of microLED projectors and waveguides and, like its predecessor, displays exclusively in green. The display projects useful information, notifications, and, if necessary, map navigation into the field of view. The smart glasses can also translate and transcribe conversations in real-time and display them directly on the screen. They also offer a discreet teleprompter function.
With the Even G2, the field of view increases from 25 to 27.5 degrees, the resolution from 640 Ă— 200 to 640 Ă— 350 pixels, and the brightness from 1,000 to 1,200 nits. In our test of the Even Realities G1, it became clear that a separately available sunglasses clip is needed to see the display in bright sunlight. Little is likely to have changed in this regard, despite the increased brightness. Unlike the Meta Ray-Ban display, the Even G2 does not have self-tinting lenses.

Meta's new smart glasses display a full-color image, but only in the right lens. This makes them monocular, unlike the binoculars Even G1 and G2, which offer significantly more visual comfort.
The new glasses support prescription inserts from -12 to +12 diopters, which must be ordered with the glasses. For the Meta Ray-Ban Display, the range ends at ±4, and the diopters cannot be adjusted later. With the Even G2, a subsequent change is possible, but only through the manufacturer, not at the optician.
A smart ring for simpler operation and health tracking
The new smart glasses are slightly slimmer and lighter than the previous generation and are protected for the first time according to IP67 against dust and brief immersion in water. They are offered in two different frame styles and three colors. The battery now lasts up to two days and can be fully recharged seven times with the included case.

The Even OS operating system, the smartphone app, and several software functions have also been revised. The dashboard can now display multiple expandable info widgets, and the teleprompter can show more lines. With bidirectional translation, the conversation is now also transcribed directly on the smartphone, so the other person no longer needs smart glasses. The map also now automatically adjusts to the user's gaze direction.
The proprietary AI assistant now responds three times faster, but users can still switch to ChatGPT or Perplexity. A new AI feature is conversation support: it can display helpful context during a conversation, summarize what has been discussed, and provide suggestions for appropriate follow-up questions. By the end of the year, Even Realities plans to launch a marketplace for third-party apps, which is intended to increase the variety of applications.

So far, the smart glasses are operated in three ways: touch gestures on the temple, voice control, and the smartphone app. With the new Smart Ring “Even R1” available in various sizes, another control option is now added. The wearable features a touchpad, which allows you to confirm by tapping, scroll by swiping, and open the menu by long pressing. In addition, the ring functions as a health tracker, recording sleep, steps, calorie consumption, body temperature, heart rate, and blood oxygen. The values can be displayed in the field of view if needed. The ring is protected according to IP68 and offers a battery life of up to four days.
The Even Realities G2 can be pre-ordered immediately. The price remains the same at 699 euros. Prescription inserts are available from 169 euros. The smart ring costs 269 euros regularly and is available at half price until the end of the year. Buyers of the Even G1 receive it for free. The current delivery time is 3 to 4 weeks.
