VR Games Showcase Autumn 2025: All New VR Games and Announcements
A cult game is coming to virtual reality and a Half-Life: Alyx mod is becoming a standalone game – the highlights of the VR Games Showcase.
The indie hit "Vampire Survivors" is getting a VR adaptation and is available now for Meta Quest.

The VR Games Showcase presented a wide range of new VR games for Meta Quest, PC-VR, PS VR2, and Apple Vision Pro for the second time this year in its autumn edition. Extensions to well-known titles, VR adaptations of successful indie hits, and VR mods also found their place. Host Jamie Feltham opened with a small surprise: The indie hit "Vampire Survivors" is getting a VR version, available immediately exclusively for Meta Quest.
Developer Poncle aims to transfer the minimalist gameplay of the original to virtual reality with "Vampire Survivors but it's in virtual reality". Players look at an arena with a depth effect in an immersive environment and must face waves of supernatural enemies while weapons fire automatically. The concept already caused a stir in the flatscreen sector and significantly shaped the genre of bullet-hell survival games.
Popular Tactical Shooter Comes to VR
On November 14th, the unofficial but supported by the original developers VR mod for the highly acclaimed tactical shooter "Ready Or Not" will be released. The adaptation comes from VR YouTuber Mike Cussell ("Virtual Reality Oasis") and developer KITT. Announced VR features include manual reloading, physical door interactions, voice commands for the AI team, and a fully equipped body inventory. The mod is free and runs through the game's official mod store. All common PC VR headsets are supported, as well as crossplay with flatscreen players.

CharacterBank's new game goes in a completely different direction. "Knights of Fiona" is an anime-style JRPG for Meta Quest and PC-VR. Players travel to the world of Gallia to fight an ancient threat together with Fiona and her knights. The title will support both solo and co-op gameplay for up to three people and relies on classic role-playing mechanics. Release is planned for 2026.
Half-Life: Alyx Mod Becomes a Standalone Game
Just yesterday, Valve confirmed that it is not working on a new Half-Life: Alyx. But today, there's at least a small ray of hope for fans: a popular Alyx mod will be continued as a standalone game. "Gunman Contracts – Stand Alone" is a VR shooter in the style of an action movie that can be played both in VR and on a monitor. This would make the game ideally suited for the upcoming gaming VR headset Steam Frame, which supports playing Steam games on a virtual screen in addition to a VR mode.

Players take on the role of a contract killer who targets criminal networks in a dark underworld. The early access version is said to offer several missions, many different weapon types, and selectable contracts. The German indie developer "ANB_Seth" will successively add content such as new missions and challenges. There will also be an optional "Low Violence" mode that softens the depiction of violence.
