Spechttintling 2
(Image:Â Roland Schirmer)
A slender Scarlet Hood mushroom stands upright in damp moss, surrounded by smoke, presumably from a cigarette. The soft light and shallow depth of field create an almost fairytale-like atmosphere, skillfully captured by Roland Schirmer. The foreground and background blur, while the mushroom stands out in sharp focus as the main subject.
Alien. Photo Contest BLUE
(Image:Â BlackMan)
Floating in the darkness, this jellyfish almost appears to be a creature from another world. The blue light highlights its fine structures and makes the tentacles look translucent. A calm, hypnotic image with a strong color impact by BlackMan.
Sunset at Grödner Joch
(Image:Â Amheise)
This panorama skillfully captures the golden light of the late afternoon. The rugged rocks rise clearly structured into the sky, and the horizon opens up a wide view into the valley. Gallery photographer Amheise uses the depth of the landscape and the light here to create a harmonious interplay of shadows and forms.
blue dog
(Image:Â Gast (20769cd5))
An expressive gaze from bright eyes surrounded by a cloud of blue color powder. The flying powder lends a lot of energy to this animal portrait, while the dark background makes the dog appear quite three-dimensional. The light excellently emphasizes the fur structure and enhances the contrast between the animal and the color. The photographer Petra Rau reports on the shoot: "I set up a black background with a hurdle. The dogs then sit in front of the hurdle and are dabbed with a little powder, with more powder sprinkled on their backs. The powder flies as they jump over the hurdle. An external flash is also used to freeze the powder. In post-processing, I digitally add some powder so as not to burden the dog with too much. For the dog Balou here, the color matched his eyes perfectly."
Melancholy in November
(Image:Â Addi Beck)
Addi Becks image was taken during the Corona period during a walk on a cool, foggy day. A withered sunflower hangs down. The image itself is dark, with hardly any light and color, but with all the more structure. The matte blue-gray of the background enhances the stillness of the moment. It silently tells of decay and reveals an unexpected aesthetic in transience. "In post-processing, I gave the image a look that suited the season, the weather, and the situation at the time," says the photographer.
heavy sunset
(Image:Â metapix)
The light of the low-lying sun hits the moistly shimmering coastline, transforming the beach into a glassy surface. The colors of the sky merge with the water into an almost graphic gradient. The deliberately tilted horizon, chosen by metapix , cuts the image diagonally, as if the sea were flowing down like from a mountain.
...and let your kite fly
(Image:Â feddy)
Against a gray sky, the silhouettes of five people stand out, while kites dance in the wind above them. The play of contrasts gives the scene both movement and expanse. Despite the dark tones, the image by feddy radiates a certain lightness due to the sky. It captures the magic of a simple moment – play, silence, and sky.
