The humanoid A2 robot from the Chinese robotics company Agibot has set a Guinness World Record for the longest distance walked in one go. The robot covered a distance of more than 106 km, specifically 106.286 m, within three days. The record was set on November 10th and has now been officially confirmed by Guinness World Records.
The humanoid robot Agibot A2 began its walk on the evening of November 10th in the eastern Chinese city of Suzhou. Its path led it over roads and streets with varying surface textures, to which the robot adapted itself. On November 13th, it reached the northern part of the historic Bund district in Shanghai.

The Agibot A2 is 1.69 m tall and weighs 69 kg, including the battery. It has a total of 40 degrees of freedom. The humanoid robot is equipped with an intelligent navigation system that allows it to move autonomously to defined points. Upon command, the A2 can execute a limited range of voice commands into up to 30 actions and is capable of answering questions via artificial intelligence (AI). The display in its head is designed to reproduce more than eleven different facial expressions.
Battery replacement during operation
The Agibot A2 is available in two different versions: Agibot A2 Ultra and Agibot A2 Lite. The Lite version differs from the Ultra version essentially in its materials, lower weight, and reduced functionality. Furthermore, the A2 Lite's battery lasts only two hours, while the A2 Ultra's lasts three hours.

For the record run, Agibot accordingly used the A2 Ultra with its higher endurance. During the run, the batteries, which can be replaced during operation, were exchanged multiple times. How many times exactly, Agibot remains silent about. The Ultra version of the robot used was not specially adapted for the run. The version of the A2 Ultra that comes off the production line and is delivered to customers was used.
