Amazon is releasing its new Kindle Scribe models on December 10th – but initially only in the USA. This was confirmed by an Amazon spokesperson upon inquiry by heise online. At the announcement at the end of September, the company initially left it open as to when its first pen tablet, Kindle Scribe Colorsoft, and the new Scribe versions would be released. Only with the new Kindle Scribe without front light is patience required. The cheapest version is not expected to be released until 2026.
For Germany and Austria, there is still no delivery date. According to the company, interested parties can register on the respective product pages and will receive a notification as soon as they can be preordered.
The Kindle Scribe Colorsoft is expected to last several weeks on a single battery charge. The tablet costs 649.99 euros. The stylus is also included in the scope of delivery. At its presentation, Amazon emphasized that the device dispenses with common distractions from apps or notifications. This should allow users to focus better.
New Rendering Engine in the Device
Technically, according to the manufacturer, light guides with nitride LEDs and a color filter are used. This is intended to display colors optimally without details appearing washed out. In addition, there is a new rendering engine. This is also intended to improve color reproduction and make device inputs appear smoother and more natural.
