AMD removes its own page for the Ryzen 7 9850X3D
AMD appears to be preparing a significantly accelerated version of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The newcomer is already showing up in a benchmark database.

AMD itself recently fueled rumors about the Ryzen 7 9850X3D desktop processor. The name appeared on the French manufacturer's website in the "Drivers and Downloads" section. AMD has since removed it; however, it can still be found archived.
In the database of the Geekbench comparison benchmark, two results for the Ryzen 7 9850X3D already appeared in November. They support rumors that the maximum boost clock frequency is set to increase to 5.6 GHz. That would be 400 MHz, or almost eight percent more, than the current Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The remaining specifications are said to remain identical, including the base clock of 4.7 GHz.
However, the point scores in the Geekbench database have so far been inconclusive, as they are lower than those of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. This could be due to outdated firmware or poor cooling systems, for example.

Clock speed disadvantage diminishes
At 5.6 GHz, the boost clock frequency would be as high as that of the Ryzen 9 9900X. Interested parties would no longer have to choose between high clock speed or a lot of cache. Previously, AMD clocked all X3D processors lower to control heat development. These models stack cache chiplets with SRAM and compute dies with the CPU cores, making them more sensitive to heat.
It is questionable in what form the Ryzen 7 9850X3D might appear. At least the two Geekbench runs so far were apparently uploaded from China. The motherboards used by Chinese manufacturers Colorful and Maxsun suggest this.
AMD frequently releases China-exclusive processors and graphics cards, most recently the Ryzen 5 9500F. In this country, it is only unofficially available, sporadically and overpriced as a tray version (starting from 200 €). The same fate could befall the Ryzen 7 9850X3D.
