Jolla starts pre-sale of new Sailfish phone
Many community wishes, such as the privacy switch, have been accommodated. The headphone jack, however, did not make it.

Following the update to the community survey in early November, Jolla has now launched the pre-sale for the new Jolla Phone. For around 99 Euros, interested parties can reserve their device and help make the required 2000 pre-orders a reality. The final price appears to vary slightly from country to country. According to Jolla, the device will only be produced after this threshold is reached.
Dual-SIM support and expandable storage
A look at the product page already reveals some details, even though the processor used is only described as a fast Mediatek 5G platform. This will be accompanied by 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The latter can be expanded up to two TB thanks to a microSDXC card. The same slot accommodates two Nano-SIMs. This was also the case with the Jolla C2. Otherwise, the new smartphone will support Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC.
With the display, Jolla was able to meet the community's wish for a screen of approximately six inches. The device is to feature a 6.36-inch AMOLED display with Full-HD resolution, which according to Jolla corresponds to a pixel density of approximately 390 ppi. The aspect ratio is said to be 20:9. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass. However, more precise specifications are not provided here. The dimensions of the smartphone will be 158 x 74 x 9mm. This makes it approximately the same size as the Fairphone 6.
On the back of the device, there is a 50-megapixel camera and a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera. Jolla does not specify the resolution of the selfie camera on the front. The back of the smartphone can be removed according to the community's wishes. The request for a replaceable battery has therefore also been met. It offers a capacity of 5500 mAh. Users hope that there will be other covers later that differ in color from the current colors white, black, and orange.
Focus on privacy and sustainability
As announced, Jolla's focus is on privacy and sustainability. The new Sailfish Phone is to receive at least five years of software support. In addition, a privacy switch is installed. According to the website, users can configure this as they wish. For example, the microphone, Bluetooth, or Android apps can be switched off.

The Finns have integrated a fingerprint reader into the smartphone's power button. An LED for notifications is also on board. The wish for a headphone jack could not be fulfilled, much to the regret of many community members. However, in the forum, there are some references to corresponding adapters, similar to those found on other smartphones.
Delivery only in mid-2026
The pre-order campaign runs for exactly one month, i.e., until January 4, 2026. Those who reserve the new Sailfish Phone for 99 Euros during this period will pay another 400 Euros once the device is available. Jolla emphasizes that the reservation can be canceled at any time. According to the Finns, pre-order customers should also receive their down payment back if the 2000 pre-orders are not reached. At the time of this article's publication, the goal has already been reached.
After the month ends, between 599 Euros and 699 Euros will be due. Interested parties will have to wait quite a long time for the smartphone. Jolla expects availability in mid-2026.
