"Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred" brings Paladin and Loot Filter
Blizzard continues the story of "Diablo 4" with "Lord of Hatred". In the expansion, players continue to deal with Mephisto – as a Paladin, if desired.

Blizzard announced a new expansion for the action role-playing game "Diablo 4" at The Game Awards. In "Lord of Hatred", players will continue to hunt Mephisto, the villain from the main game and the previous "Vessel of Hatred" expansion. Blizzard promises that the events so far will be brought to a conclusion in "Lord of Hatred".

Arguably the biggest new feature: buyers of the expansion will gain access to a new class, the Paladin. It combines genre-typical melee weapons and a heavy shield with holy magic abilities. With heavy armor, Paladins can also take a lot of damage. In addition, the Paladin has various auras with which he can buff allied players in the vicinity.
Second new class on the way
Many fans had been expecting the Paladin for months. A surprise: it is already playable if you pre-order the expansion. A second new class is scheduled to be available upon the release of "Lord of Hatred" on April 28, 2026. However, it is still unclear what it will be. It is suspected in the community that it could be the Amazon – after all, the region Skovos, introduced in the expansion, is considered its homeland. Screenshots show Skovos as a brighter and friendlier environment than the rather muddy-dark and cold regions from the main game.
"Diablo 4" players who do not buy the expansion will also be pleased with some new features. For example, all users will be able to decide for themselves in the future which items they want to see and which not – this improves the overview on the screen. In addition, Blizzard intends to supplement the skill tree of all classes with new ability variations and to revamp the endgame with new rewards.

Players of "Diablo 4" competitor "Path of Exile 2" are also looking forward to a new class. On December 12, the team at Grinding Gear Games will release the Druid, who can transform into a bear, an ice wolf, and a mini-dragon.
