Remedy Entertainment announced "Control Resonant", the successor to its multi-award-winning 2019 action adventure, during The Game Awards 2025. In contrast to its predecessor, "Resonant" will feature a male protagonist for the first time.
Protagonist Dylan Faden is the brother of Jesse Faden, known from the first part. After years under the control of the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC), Dylan is released right in the middle of a supernatural catastrophe. Manhattan itself begins to dissolve under the influence of an alien cosmic power as Dylan searches for his sister.
The announcement trailer, over three minutes long, shows initial combat and cinematic scenes. As in the first part, the laws of physics are once again suspended and the environment slowly changes.

Bigger, Wilder, and More Accessible
According to Creative Director Mikael Kasurinen, "Control Resonant" is intended to offer a "bigger, wilder" experience than its predecessor. However, the game is also deliberately designed for newcomers who are not familiar with the first part. How Remedy will achieve this, given the complexity of "Control" and its connections to the "Remedy Connected Universe," will be interesting to see. After "Alan Wake 2", Remedy officially announced that the game worlds of "Control," "Alan Wake," and "Quantum Break" are all interconnected.
Remedy promises an open structure for the second part, where players can experiment with supernatural abilities. These include elemental powers, a shapeshifting weapon called "Aberrant," and expandable skills. Decisions in the game are said to have a direct impact on the development of powers and the course of the story.
