"Laser Limbo" began as virtual laser tag for VR arcades, but has since evolved into a collection of family-friendly mixed reality party games that can also be played at home.
What makes "Laser Limbo" special is its local multiplayer. This means that two players in the same room can participate in the same gaming experience, provided they have two Meta Quest devices. After setup, "Laser Limbo" transforms apartments and entire floors into multiplayer arenas for mixed reality games, where furniture and other interior elements become relevant to the game and can be used for cover, for example.

The game has been in Early Access for a long time and is leaving it on Friday with a major update. This introduces lightsaber battles for solo and co-op modes. Additionally, three weapon-free game modes are added, in which players must navigate an ever-changing laser labyrinth and collect coins, assemble 3D puzzles, and pop bubbles.
Experience at Home or in the Arcade
In addition to home use, "Laser Limbo" continues to support use in VR arcades. The two developers, Nico Uthe and Christoph Springer, operate their own arcade for Laser Limbo in Berlin. This location-based version of the game supports up to eight players simultaneously and can be licensed by arcade operators. Private users can inquire via Discord.
Those playing "Laser Limbo" at home must manually mark their rooms and furniture before starting the game. While this is a bit more involved than Meta's automatic system, it offers more control and precision. For the coming year, the developers promise further features and new MR game modes.
Laser Limbo is available in the Horizon Store for Meta Quest 2, 3, and 3S, but version 1.0 will only be released this evening. With the code "PRESS-C5B464", you get a 33 percent discount.
