ChatGPT Wrapped: Chats instead of music playlists

While the last Wrapped contributions from Instagram and TikTok have slowly disappeared, OpenAI is providing a replenishment. ChatGPT also offers a personal year-in-review. However, initially only in English-speaking regions.

"Your year in poetry..." TechCrunch calls one category in which users can look back. Below it is a poem that apparently refers directly to the user and her usage behavior – naturally nicely presented so that it can be shared like a tile on social media platforms. According to OpenAI, the whole thing is absolutely secure in terms of privacy and user control. It would be even worse if, for example, the ChatGPT agent automatically posted a year-in-review with sensitive data on LinkedIn.

At the end of the year, ChatGPT also awards prizes to people who have used the AI chatbot to solve a problem, for example. The image shown by TechCrunch resembles a trophy from a Super Mario game: cute, playful, pixelated, with a heart, star, and crown.

According to OpenAI, only people in the USA, Great Britain, Australia, and New Zealand have access this year according to OpenAI. Corporate and educational accounts are also excluded. The year-in-reviews do not appear automatically; they can be accessed in the web app and mobile apps. If in doubt, simply ask ChatGPT for them. The condition is that the Memory function is switched on – otherwise, ChatGPT cannot remember conversations.

Year-in-reviews from Spotify to TikTok

Spotify is particularly popular with Wrapped. People post their most listened-to music, but also funny categories, such as the age that matches the music listened to. Look at that: some 20-year-olds listen to music that Spotify associates more with 45-year-olds.

But Google also provides a list each year of search terms and topics that were searched for particularly often – not personalized, but regional. In Germany, for example, this was the federal election, the Handball World Championship, the Women's Football European Championship, and Laura Dahlmeier. Japan and Albania appear as popular travel destinations – both still feel like a hidden gem for many, Google proves that this is not the case.

On TikTok, reviews can be created automatically, where the service cuts together particularly popular images and video clips into one clip.
