Over the past few years, notebook touchpads have become increasingly larger. The new frontrunner is the 2026 model of the Swift 16 AI: Acer is equipping it with a sensor area of almost 18 centimeters by 11 centimeters – which translates to over 8 inches diagonally. This opens up new usage possibilities: you can operate it with your finger or as a graphics tablet for fine drawings or precise pen input. Acer includes a pen with the notebook, which communicates with the touchpad via the MPP standard.

The Swift 16 AI uses Intel processors from the new Core Ultra 300 series (Panther Lake) with the largest GPU configuration (Xe-12). The 16-inch OLED panel with a reflective surface displays 2880 × 1800 pixels and runs at 120 Hertz. The Swift 16 AI is expected to go on sale at the end of the month; however, Acer has not yet announced a price.

Acer is also relaunching the particularly lightweight Swift Edge series notebooks with 14-inch (1 kilogram) or 16-inch OLED displays (1.2 kilograms) with Core Ultra 300; however, their market launch will only occur in the second quarter. They will come in more mass-market compatible shades than their predecessor, which was only available in white, but they will have to forgo its special feature: the OLED screen of the 2026 models will no longer have matte Gorilla Glass, but a reflective screen surface as usual.
