Two monitors in one: Lenovo launches all-in-one PC with large 16:18 screen
The ThinkCentre X AIO, with its rotatable 27.6-inch 16:18 aspect ratio screen, is aimed at fans of unusual screen formats.

Most all-in-one PCs, like desktop monitors, have a 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio screen. Lenovo takes a different approach with the ThinkCentre X AIO: its frame houses a 27.6-inch panel in a 16:18 format. This is equivalent to two 16:9 displays seamlessly joined together. The resolution is 2560Â Ă— 2880 pixels, which is twice WQHD or double 1440p.
The screen is rotatably mounted, allowing the device to be used with swapped dimensions (pivot). The matte panel runs at 60 Hertz, covers 98 percent of the DCI-P3 color space, and achieves a maximum brightness of 300 cd/m². This makes the display primarily suitable for office use and less for gaming -- which is not surprising given the aspect ratio. Additional monitors can be connected to the rear via HDMI or Thunderbolt 4 ports.
Lenovo is equipping the ThinkCentre X AIO with Intel's new Core Ultra 300 generation and will install processors up to the Core Ultra X7 358H with a powerful Xe GPU. Internally, two M.2 slots are available for SSDs, and for RAM, Lenovo plans for up to 64 GByte of soldered LPDDR5 RAM.
The ThinkCentre X AIO, weighing over seven kilograms, is expected to go on sale in March starting at 1700 Euros.

Spiritual Successor to Surface Studio
An all-in-one device comparable to the ThinkCentre X AIO with a nearly square screen area was last offered by Microsoft, namely the Surface Studio with a large 3:2 screen. However, the unfortunate device lagged one to two generations behind the state of the art in terms of integrated hardware -- and has long since been discontinued.
