ThinkBook Plus Gen7 Auto Twist: Motorized screen turns to the user
The rotatable, hinged screen of the ThinkBook Plus Gen7 can open and follow the user independently.

In the early years of tablet PCs, a central swivel hinge was the common design, which was later replaced by the now prevalent 360-degree hinges. With the new ThinkBook Plus Gen7, Lenovo is returning to the old design, but giving it a twist: the hinge is motorized, allowing the notebook lid to open and rotate automatically.
Lenovo uses this for technical gimmicks. For example, the lid flips open on its own when you tap the sleeping notebook or request the action via voice command. In the latter case, you can even ask the device to switch to tablet mode – whereupon the lid flips up, rotates 180°, and then closes again with the display facing outwards.

Display follows user
In normal notebook mode, you can activate a follow function, so that the lid always aligns with the user's position. Those who fidget in front of the device during Teams meetings or prefer to give their contribution standing up or even walking around will always have a good view of the screen content.
And finally, there is an AI assistant with large animated googly eyes, which in turn seeks "eye contact" with the user and wiggles its "head" when happy. More could follow in the future: Lenovo demonstrated a prototype of a smartphone app on-site that turns the paired notebook into a controllable webcam or home surveillance system.
The ThinkBook Plus Gen7 Auto Twist features Intel Core Ultra 300 series processors (Panther Lake). It is expected to be available from June for starting at 1400 Euros.
