Sea of blue blossoms impresses: Winners of the c't photo contest announced
The photo competition "The Color Blue" by c't Photography has found its winners. An atmospheric macro shot of flowers secures first place.

The editors of c't Fotografie congratulate the winners of the c’t Fotografie photo competition. Under the motto “The Color Blue,” registered users of the heise photo gallery submitted their interpretations of the theme and voted for each other.
Hepatica in a Bokeh Frenzy
First place, and thus a 2-year subscription to c't Fotografie, was secured by user Finn (3) with his picture Sea of blue blossoms. The photo shows a Hepatica nobilis – a liverleaf – against a blurred, harmonious background in a fascinating interplay of light and shadow.

Architecture and Experiment in the Podium Places
Second place goes to Karsten Gieselmann for his work Stairway Blues. The architectural shot evoked associations of an eye in some viewers – proof of the motif's multi-layered effect.

Third place was taken by rrh_007 with Experiment – a creative interpretation of a classic school experiment. The image shows an originally white tulip that has changed color by absorbing blue water, thus making water transport in plants visible.

Diversity in the Following Places
Places four to ten show the thematic breadth of the submissions: from detailed jellyfish and ice formations to seascapes with driftwood. Shots where people interact with blue light in individual ways also convinced the community.
