At CES 2026, Rokid unveiled new AI glasses that forgo a built-in display, focusing instead on voice assistance and a camera. The “Rokid Ai Glasses Style” directly competes with Meta's Ray-Ban series. Compared to Meta's glasses, they are almost 20 grams lighter at 38.5 grams and are intended to be usable with open interfaces for various AI services like ChatGPT, DeepSeek, and Qwen. Services such as Google Maps or Microsoft's translation system should also be easily integrated. The global sales launch is scheduled for January 19, 2026, with a price of $299.

Rokid's new AI glasses are based on a dual-chip design: the NXP RT600 is intended to handle power-efficient continuous tasks, while a Qualcomm AR1 chip is responsible for image processing and AI. With this, Rokid aims to achieve a usage time of up to 12 hours. In standby mode, more than 24 hours are possible, according to the manufacturer.

The advertised use cases and features are similar to the Meta Ray-Ban: a 12-megapixel camera with a Sony sensor allows for 4K video recording, for example, for first-person perspective social media clips. Translations are possible in 89 languages. The glasses are operated via voice commands in twelve languages, touch input, or AI shortcuts. New, however, are head gestures: a nod answers calls, a shake of the head ends them. For people with visual impairments, the company offers a global online service for prescription lenses, covering strengths up to ±15 diopters, including progressive and sun protection lenses.

In addition to AI assistance, the glasses are also intended for contactless payments. In collaboration with Ant International, the Alipay+ GlassPay application has been integrated. Users can scan QR codes via the glasses' camera and confirm payments directly via the frame using biometric authentication – of course, only in countries where Alibaba's payment service is available.

In parallel with the new model series without a display, Rokid continues to advance a variant with projection technology, as recently shown at IFA 2025 in Berlin. The “Rokid Glasses” presented there combine a camera, microphone array, and open audio output with a micro-LED display that projects text and graphics into the field of view. The Kickstarter campaign for this model was a complete success, raising over half a million US dollars in just 24 hours. Delivery is planned for spring 2026.
