A previously unknown Apple display with model number A3350 has appeared in the database of the China Energy Label Center. This is reported by the tech news blog MacRumors. According to the database entry, a "high-performance LCD display" is used. This rules out OLED for this model. The Chinese regulatory database provides no information on technical details such as screen diagonal, resolution, refresh rate, brightness, or connections. The display achieves energy efficiency level 2 and consumes 0.35 watts when switched off and 0.38 watts in standby.
Studio Display and Pro Display XDR outdated
Apple has not updated its external displays for years. The Studio Display was launched in March 2022 along with the Mac Studio and offers 27 inches with 5K resolution at 60 Hertz. The maximum brightness is 600 candelas per square meter; HDR is not supported. The A13 Bionic processor is used in the housing. The Pro Display XDR dates back to December 2019 and was released at the same time as the Mac Pro.
Rumors about an updated Studio Display have been circulating for months. According to these, Apple could use an A19 or A19 Pro chip, which would improve image processing, camera, and audio. ProMotion with a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hertz would make scrolling and animations smoother. HDR support would be relevant for professional applications such as video editing. Code in iOS 26 indicates both features. Mini-LED as a backlight is also speculated – this technology enables higher brightness and better contrast with optimized energy efficiency.

Timeline fits previous launches
The filing in the Chinese database is similar to the pattern of previous Apple product launches. The current Studio Display appeared in regulatory databases about three months before its launch in March 2022. A similar timeline would suggest a release in March or April 2026.
The new display may be released along with updated Macs. Rumors speak of MacBook Pros with M5 Pro and M5 Max, which could arrive at the end of January. An M5 Mac Studio or updated Mac mini models are also being considered. In line with this, Apple is launching the Creator Studio Bundle on January 28, 2026, which includes Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, and other pro apps.
