For some versions of Windows 10 and 11, Microsoft has released out-of-band updates. They are intended to fix problems that occurred after the regular security updates from the January Patchday.
These patches fix a known issue with Remote Desktop connections:
- KB5077744 (Build 26200.7627 and 26100.7627; Windows 11 Version 25H2 and 24H2)
- KB5077793 (Build 26200.32234; Windows Server 2025)
- KB5077792 (Build 25398.2096; Windows Server Version 23H2)
- KB5077800 (Build 20348.4650; Windows Server 2022)
- KB5077796 (Build 19045.6811 and 19044.6811; Windows 10 Version 22H2 and Enterprise LTSC 2021)
- KB5077795 (Build 17763.8280; Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 and Server 2019)
For Windows 11 version 23H2, this update is also available:
- KB5077797 (Build 22631.6494; Windows 11 Version 23H2)
In addition to the Remote Desktop issue, it also resolves another issue with the power saving function, which also occurred with the January Patchday and caused problems with shutdown and hibernation mode.

Microsoft refers to these patches as "Out-of-Band" -- meaning updates outside the regular schedule, which are not released on the regular Patchday (the second Tuesday of the month) but are intended to fix serious errors quickly independently. They should not be confused with optional preview updates, which are often released on the third or fourth Tuesday of the month (formerly called C or D patches) and usually offer a preview of non-security-critical changes.
