Playground Games shows gameplay from "Fable" and "Forza Horizon 6"
British humor and Japanese streets: Playground Games has shown longer gameplay excerpts from "Fable" and "Forza Horizon 6".

The British studio Playground Games is developing into one of the most important teams in the Xbox portfolio: after being known for years for its successful open-world racing games in the “Forza Horizon” series, a second team is developing the role-playing game “Fable.” On Thursday evening, Playground Games released longer gameplay excerpts for both titles.
Playground's core business is the “Forza Horizon” series. The new installment, “Forza Horizon 6,” was announced last year at the Tokyo Game Show, and now there are first gameplay scenes from the racing game. It features what Playground Games claims to be the largest map in the series' history, this time recreating Japan – including seasonal changes and at least 36 views of Fuji.

Otherwise, there are rather small changes compared to the predecessor, which was set in South America. Players can now edit garages themselves. In addition, there is a piece of land in Japan where players can build their own base. The game continues to focus on fast-paced arcade racing and driving challenges in the open game world.

Play as a loan shark in “Fable”
The open game world is also the bridge that Playground is building to “Fable” – as a kind of identity for the studio that brings both games under one roof. For the development of “Fable,” Playground Games has built a new team that wants to build on the work of Lionhead Studios, where the original was developed.

This includes British humor and the ability to interact with NPCs in different ways. The video, for example, shows how you can buy houses and then rent them out to NPCs. Unpleasant non-player characters can simply be thrown onto the street, which is met with appropriately rude comments.
“Forza Horizon 6” will be released on May 19, 2026, for PC and Xbox Series X/S. A PlayStation version is expected to follow later in the year. “Fable” will be released directly on PlayStation at launch – simultaneously with Xbox Series X/S and PC in autumn 2026.
