"The Super Mario Galaxy Movie": New Trailer and Earlier Release
Nintendo has released a new trailer for "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie". In addition, the release date is being moved forward slightly – to April 1st.

Nintendo is releasing its upcoming Mario movie as early as April 1st: „The Super Mario Galaxy Movie“ will thus be moved forward slightly, after previously the 2nd or 3rd of April was targeted as the release date in many international markets. Now Nintendo has settled on April 1st in many markets. However, viewers in Japan will have to be patient for significantly longer – the cinema release is only planned for April 24th here.
With the new date, Nintendo has also released a trailer showing some scenes from the upcoming film. Among other things, the character Yoshi can be seen for the first time. The quality of the animated scenes is said to correspond to the final product, which is reportedly already in the post-production phase.

First part was a billion-dollar success
"The Super Mario Galaxy Movie" follows the "Super Mario Bros." movie, which Nintendo released in cinemas in 2023. The animation studio Illumination is once again producing part 2 together with Nintendo icon Shigeru Miyamoto. The actors from the first part are also said to be returning – including Chris Pratt as Mario and Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach in the English-language version. Brie Larson and Benny Safdie also have roles.
The first Mario movie is considered a great success for Nintendo – after all, according to Nintendo, it generated 1.3 billion US dollars. According to a report by industry magazine Variety, the Mario movie is by far the most successful video game adaptation of all time.

In addition, Nintendo has benefited from synergy effects – the film's success has boosted sales of the "Mario" games. So it's not surprising that Nintendo also wants to bring other brands to the big screen. Nintendo is currently producing a live-action adaptation of the video game series "The Legend of Zelda".
