Lego has announced five more Star Wars sets that will be equipped with the electronic building blocks from the Smart Play range. The five additional sets complement the three Star Wars-licensed Smart Play packages announced at CES 2026. All will be released on March 1st.

According to Lego, the Smart Play system is the “biggest innovation” since the introduction of minifigures in 1978. Ten years of development and 25 patents are said to be incorporated into the technology: a 2x4 brick with integrated electronics recognizes movements, generates sounds, controls LEDs, and communicates wirelessly with other Lego bricks – without mandatory apps, screens, or external controllers. To the user, it all looks like a normal Lego brick.

The following new Star Wars sets with Lego Smart Play have been announced:

They complement the Star Wars sets already presented at CES 2026:

The Smart Play system consists of three components: The Smart Brick (2x4 brick) forms the central electronic element with sensors, ASIC, radio, audio, and LEDs. In addition, there are Smart Tags (2x2 tiles, i.e., without studs) as passive ID carriers, which are read by the Smart Brick, as well as smart minifigures, which externally resemble normal minifigures but carry an internal chip for identification.

Unlike the sets presented at CES 2026, the five new models do not have a Smart Brick on board, meaning they are not fully functional on their own. They are intended as a supplement to other sets that come with a Smart Brick. Currently, a Smart Brick cannot be ordered individually.
