In February, VR fans can look forward to the flight simulation "Aces of Thunder", which aims to bring historical aerial combat from World War I and II into virtual reality. Gaijin Entertainment announced the title for February 3rd on Playstation VR2 and PC VR headsets via Steam. The rest of the February lineup consists mainly of small indie titles. Additionally, "Orcs Must Die VR", "Raceclub", "F/A-18 Pilot Simulator", "Skyleap", "Frenzy Blood", and "Fixer Undercover" will have their releases originally planned for January.

"Aces of Thunder" builds on Gaijin's military MMO "War Thunder" from 2013, but focuses on aerial combat with historically accurate aircraft, physically realistic flight simulation, and fully interactive cockpits. At launch, there will be over 20 aircraft, including the American P-51 Mustang, the German Bf 109, the Soviet Yak-9T, the British Spitfire, and the Japanese A6M3 Zero.

Aircraft from World War I, such as the Fokker Dr.I or the Sopwith Camel, are also included in the hangar. More aircraft are expected to follow via DLC. The maps cover various war theaters – from the Western and Eastern Fronts to the Pacific. A special hangar mode will serve as a visual aircraft archive between missions.

For game modes, VR pilots can choose between single-player and multiplayer content. The campaign offers historical scenarios with graded difficulty levels. In multiplayer, up to 16 players compete against each other in team battles or duels.

All cockpit functions can be operated directly with the VR controllers – from the joystick and throttle to retracting the landing gear. For those who prefer even more realism, HOTAS systems are available. The game also supports standard gamepads or mouse-keyboard combinations. After its VR release, Gaijin plans to release a flat-screen mode for non-VR players.
