Ikea is expanding its speaker range with a child-friendly model: The new Bluetooth speaker is part of the new Grejsimojs collection, in which the Swedish furniture house relies on playful and colorful designs that are intended to appeal beyond the children's room. The device comes in the shape of a purple mouse, whose tail serves as a carrying strap.
The device, suitable for children aged three and up, is designed for robustness and is IP44 protected against water splashes and light rain, but not against submersion in water. Inside, a single 1.6-inch driver works with a total output of 2 watts.
The speaker has two control buttons: on the underside there is a button for switching on/off and Bluetooth pairing, while on the top there is a button for play and pause. The volume is adjusted via the source device. To protect children's sensitive hearing, the device has a permanently installed volume limiter.
Ikea's next speaker will likely be even cheaper
The Grejsimojs speaker can be paired with other Bluetooth speakers from Ikea, provided they support the corresponding connection function. A stereo mode, where the left and right channels are split separately across two speakers, is not provided. Buyers also have to do without the “Spotify Tap” function available on other models. This allows users to resume the last played Spotify playlist at the touch of a button or discover new music based on their listening habits.
Ikea states the battery life is up to 24 hours, provided playback is at 50 percent of the maximum volume. The speaker is charged via a USB-C port on the underside. The charging cable and power adapter are not included in the scope of delivery, but Ikea offers a suitable power supply set for 5 Euros. The Bluetooth speaker itself costs 15 Euros.

The Grejsimojs speaker follows the introduction of the higher-quality Bluetooth speakers Solskydd and Kulglass in December and Blomprakt in October. Unlike Grejsimojs, these devices support “Spotify Tap”. The price ranges from 50 to 100 Euros, depending on the model.
At CES 2026 in January, Ikea announced another speaker: Kallsup is a cube-shaped device with an edge length of seven centimeters, which can be connected to up to 99 other Kallsup units. The price is expected to be between 5 and 10 Euros, with market launch expected in April.
