Pixel 10a: Google shows new model in a teaser and announces the unveiling date
Google gives a first look at its mid-range smartphone Pixel 10a and reveals when it will be unveiled.

The Pixel 10a will be released even earlier than the Pixel 9a last year: the company has shown the design of the mid-range smartphone in a teaser video and revealed that it is scheduled to be unveiled on February 18, 2026. The predecessor was only presented on March 19, 2025, and only went on sale on April 14.
Pixel 10a comes earlier than the 9a
The teaser, released on Wednesday evening our time, shows a device that looks strikingly similar to the 9a. It features two cameras on the back, housed in a flat, pill-shaped cutout. The company has not yet disclosed specific equipment details, but leaks suggest that the device will be very similar to its predecessor in many respects.

According to the leaks, the Pixel 10a is expected to feature a 6.3-inch display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. It is also said to have a Google Tensor G4 chip on board, which is expected to be slightly more powerful than the one in the 9a. The chip will be accompanied by 8 GB of RAM and a 5100 mAh battery – identical to the 9a. Storage options of 128 GB and 256 GB are expected.

Supposedly no higher prices
Regarding the rear cameras, rumors suggest similar specifications to the predecessor: it is expected to have a 48 MP wide-angle and a 13 MP ultra-wide-angle camera. Further rumors indicate that the 10a will be offered in Obsidian (Black), “Fog,” Lavender, and “Berry” colors. It is likely that the device will ship with Android 16 and receive 7 years of updates.
Even European prices are already circulating. These suggest that Google will price the Pixel 10a the same as the Pixel 9a, despite a storage crisis: the 128 GB model will therefore cost 549 Euros, and the 256 GB model 649 Euros. The market launch is reportedly scheduled for March 5.

The reason Google will unveil its mid-range device even earlier than last year is likely due, among other things, to the fact that the company has completely turned its release cycle upside down. For some time now, the company has been releasing its top models in August instead of October. Last year, Google also moved up the release of the major Android versions by months. Android 16 was released in June instead of September or October. With an earlier unveiling of the 10a, there is more time between the other dates. Furthermore, the I/O developer conference also takes place in May.
