A mouse without mechanical mouse clicks: Logitech is launching the G Pro X2 Superstrike on Tuesday. Instead of a mechanical switch, it uses inductive sensors whose trigger point can be manually adjusted. For the click feel, haptic feedback is additionally triggered below the mouse buttons.
The 180 Euro mouse is primarily aimed at E-sports professionals and those who aspire to be like them. Users can precisely define how early a click is registered and when it is reset. Clicks can thus be set to trigger with minimal touch and release a new click even with the slightest release of pressure. This allows for more clicks per second, which can be valuable in certain e-sports genres like real-time strategy or MOBAs.

Up to 30 milliseconds lower latency
Regardless of individual settings and preferences, the G Pro X2 Superstrike is said to trigger slightly faster overall than mechanical microswitches used in common mice – Logitech speaks of a latency advantage of up to 30 milliseconds.
The shape of the G Pro X2 Superstrike is less unusual than its technology: it corresponds to the Pro X Superlight 2. Logitech saw no need for changes here, especially since the familiar shape is likely to feel comfortable to many gamers. On the left inner side, there are two additional, assignable buttons, and at the top, there is a stepless, clickable mouse wheel. This means the G Pro X2 Superstrike has significantly fewer buttons than some other gaming mice, but this configuration should be sufficient for essential functions in most online games. The mouse is quite light at 61 grams, even though there are lighter models in the e-sports sector.
Wireless operation
The movements on the mousepad are registered by an optical Hero-2 sensor, which is already used in some other Logitech e-sports mice. Its polling rate of 8,000 Hz corresponds to a query interval of 0.125 milliseconds. The G Pro X2 Superstrike operates wirelessly via Logitech's proprietary 2.4 GHz radio protocol Lightspeed. Wireless operation also means that the G Pro X2 Superstrike is battery-powered. According to Logitech, a battery charge with a reduced sampling rate lasts up to 90 hours before the mouse needs to be connected to power via USB-C.

Logitech developed the G Pro X2 Superstrike with e-sports professionals and hopes that the new mouse will catch on in the scene. Inductive switches have already become established in keyboards because they enable faster inputs and "Rapid Trigger" inputs, where keys are reset immediately after being pressed and can be activated repeatedly. However, for filling out Excel documents, browsing the web, and even playing less competitive video games, the G Pro X2 Superstrike, at a price of 180 Euros, is somewhat overkill.
