Chinese robotics company Agibot is taking an unusual approach to showcase the capabilities of its humanoid robots. Instead of demonstrating record-breaking athletic achievements, Agibot hosted a gala show on Monday that was performed almost exclusively by humanoid robots. The robots perform comedic acts with humans, showcase magic tricks, acrobatics, and dance together.

At Agibot Night 2026, four different types of robots from Agibot were used, each leveraging their respective strengths in different performances. The humanoid A2 robots were used for presentations and interactions with humans. The smaller humanoid X2 robots were featured in performances where they could entertain, interact with humans, and demonstrate their mobility capabilities. The G2 robots, originally developed for industrial purposes, were able to showcase their interactive AI and precise force-controlled abilities. The D1 robot dog was also used in dance performances and presentations.

During the approximately one-hour event, the robots demonstrated their capabilities in embodied intelligence and AI in the fields of comedy, magic, and dance across a total of ten acts. Agibot Night coincided with China's Spring Festival, a time when family, social bonds, and emotions are paramount in China. Humanoid robots are intended to be part of this family, explains Agibot. Therefore, a format was sought to bring robots closer to people. Robots should not only be considered purely productive tools but also as part of social perception. The goal is to integrate robots more easily into people's lives.

In addition, Agibot likely also aims to increase the visibility of its humanoid robots to better sell them to industry. By 2025, Agibot had delivered approximately 5,000 humanoid robots.
