The date for the presentation of the Galaxy S26 series has been circulating in the rumor mill for weeks. Now the company has confirmed it: The Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled to take place in San Francisco on February 25th. And that's weeks later than in previous years.
Focus on Galaxy AI
As Samsung writes in its event invitation, AI will be the focus, as it has been since the Galaxy S24: “The next AI smartphone makes your life easier,” it says. The company also writes grandly about the next generation of the S-Class: “Designed to simplify everyday interactions, build trust, and seamlessly integrate Galaxy AI into your daily life from the very first moment.”
The actual hardware of the new Galaxy family takes a backseat in the announcement. However, the new display with integrated privacy protection is likely to be particularly exciting. It is intended to protect against prying eyes.

The already extensively leaked specifications of the three models Galaxy S26 Ultra, S26+, and S26 sound like an evolutionary refresh on paper. There don't seem to be any major leaps in camera sensors, and Samsung is sticking with up to 5000 mAh for the battery, while competitors like Oppo sometimes use batteries with over 7000 mAh, enabling multi-day operation. A magnetic back for accessories and battery packs, like those found on Apple's iPhones or Google's Pixel 10, seems to be denied to the Galaxy S26 series.

Bixby with Perplexity
In terms of AI functions, we can expect Samsung's AI package, Galaxy AI, which includes Google's Gemini, as with previous models. Furthermore, Samsung had prematurely announced a revival of its AI assistant, Bixby. With the update to One UI 8.5, it is supposed to be able to access Perplexity for more demanding tasks.
In addition, Samsung's assistant is said to be able to control many processes on a Galaxy device by users speaking to it in natural language. This would make it possible to change certain settings without knowing exactly what the system setting is called or where to find it. Samsung had already announced something similar for the Galaxy S25 with Gemini.
In addition to the new high-end smartphones, Samsung could introduce a new generation of its Galaxy Buds. The Galaxy Buds 4 and 4 Pro are said to differ from the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro in terms of design. Samsung had received a lot of criticism for the Buds 3 Pro, as they were seen by some as strongly oriented towards Apple's AirPods.
Samsung will broadcast the event live on February 25th from 7 PM on the Samsung website as well as on YouTube.
