"Diablo 2 Resurrected": DLC with the first new class in 25 years
Blizzard has announced a new DLC for its action RPG "Diablo 2 Resurrected". For 25 Euros, you get the new Warlock class and convenience features.

Blizzard has announced “Reign of the Warlock”, a new DLC for “Diablo 2 Resurrected”. It brings the first new class to the action RPG in over 25 years: the titular Warlock, which Blizzard refers to as Hexenmeister in Germany. The expansion pack costs 25 Euros and requires ownership of the main game. New players can purchase the DLC together with the main game for 40 Euros as the Infernal Edition. Both can be purchased now.
“Diablo 2 Resurrected” is a 2021 remaster of Blizzard's iconic hack'n'slay, originally released in 2000. The fact that a new DLC can suddenly be purchased almost 26 years after its release – and more than four years after the remaster's release – is a positive surprise for many fans of the game classic.

The biggest feature of the DLC is the Warlock itself. Blizzard describes it as a “master of shadows” who brazenly harnesses the power of hell itself to torment demons. In a build path, the Warlock can be developed into a minion class, commanding demons in combat. Alternatively, the Warlock can use normal weapons, buffed by mental magic, or function as a kind of caster focused on elemental destruction from afar.

Loot Filter and Revamped Inventory
In addition to the new class, “Reign of the Warlock” brings new items and several convenience features to “Diablo 2”, for which the DLC must also be owned. New is, for example, the Loot Filter, which was recently introduced in “Diablo 4”. This allows players to set which item drops they want to see, providing more overview after boss fights. Several stash tabs also allow for better organization of items and resources.
The Warlock is not only coming to “Diablo 2”: The mobile game “Diablo Immortal” and “Diablo 4” will also receive a new Warlock class. With the release of the Paladin for “Diablo 4” last December, Blizzard had already hinted at a second new class – now this secret has been revealed. The Warlock in “Diablo 4” is scheduled to be available for DLC buyers with the final release of “Lord of Hatred” on April 28, 2026.
