Apple has surprisingly announced an event for media representatives on March 4, 2026. Journalists and influencers have been invited to a "Special Apple Experience" in New York City, London, or Shanghai. The event is scheduled to begin at 3 PM German time on that Wednesday.
What Apple will present there remains, for now, the secret of the iPhone manufacturer. In general, Apple seems to have pulled off a small surprise coup. Relevant leakers and Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman had not anticipated the return of a spring event. Instead, hardware releases were expected daily.
New MacBook with A18 chip on the way?
The introduction of a new MacBook at a price favorable for Apple's standards is considered quite likely. This device could come with an A18 chip, a processor that is otherwise found in iPhones and more affordable iPads. The colors in the invitation, including a spring-like yellow and green, fit with rumors that Apple wants to be bold with colors on the new model. Mark Gurman reported over the weekend that the device will have an aluminum casing and will be particularly aimed at students and businesses.

The most affordable iPhone could join such an entry-level MacBook. A successor to the iPhone 16e has been expected for some time. Whether Apple will present the iPhone 17e during the event or even before remains to be seen. The list of potential candidates also includes a new MacBook Air with M5, MacBook Pro models with M5 Pro and M5 Max, new Mac displays, an iPad with A18, and an iPad Air with M4.
No information about a video yet
It is still uncertain to what extent Apple will accompany the event with a video. In previous in-person events for media representatives, a film with the new product announcements was usually also published online. The media representatives then had the opportunity to inspect the presented devices on site.
