Fritz Repeater 6700 Pro comes with Wi-Fi 7 triband
Fritz is using the MWC mobile trade fair to announce a new router and its fastest repeater to date.

The Fritz Repeater 6700 Pro is the first Fritz Wi-Fi repeater to operate via Wi-Fi 7 in the 6 GHz band. The device contains a total of four radio modules: one each for the 6 and 2.4 GHz bands, and two for 5 GHz. In total, the manufacturer claims gross transfer rates of up to 18 Gbit/s.
Two 5 GHz radio modules can be particularly useful in mesh Wi-Fi, where one establishes the connection to clients such as smartphones and one to the router and other repeaters. In the 6 and 5 GHz bands, the Fritz Repeater 6700 Pro each achieves up to 5760 Mbit/s. For this, it uses four MIMO streams each at 5 GHz, but two at 6 GHz, with a doubled channel width of 320 MHz. At 2.4 GHz, the repeater achieves a maximum of 690 Mbit/s.
For wired connections, the Fritz Repeater 6700 Pro provides two Ethernet ports with maximum transfer rates of 10 and 2.5 Gbit/s. As usual, the repeater works in conjunction with routers from all manufacturers, not just Fritzboxes.
5G Fritzbox with USB-C Power Supply
Also newly announced is the Fritzbox 6835 5G as an entry-level model for stationary mobile communications via 5G with up to 2 Gbit/s, including backward compatibility to 4G. It works with both a physical nano-SIM card and an eSIM.

Although the model supports Wi-Fi 7, it does so in a rudimentary form: with two MIMO streams each, it achieves up to 2880 Mbit/s in the 5 GHz band and 690 Mbit/s at 2.4 GHz. Additionally, there is one 2.5 Gbit/s and one 1 Gbit/s Ethernet port each.
Like the Fritzbox 6825 4G, the Fritzbox 6835 5G comes with a USB-C port for power supply. Those who want to use the router on the go can power it with a power bank.
Fritz is showcasing the new announcements at the MWC mobile trade fair, which takes place from March 2nd to 5th in Barcelona. The company is also exhibiting other devices that have already been announced but are not yet available: the Fritzboxes 5630 XGS and 5630, the aforementioned Fritzbox 6825 4G, and the Fritz Wi-Fi Stick 6700. As usual, it may take several months for the models to reach the market.

Wi-Fi 8 in Preparation
In its announcement, Fritz draws attention to the upcoming finalization of Wi-Fi 8, also known as IEEE 802.11bn. The standard is expected to be completed by 2028 at the latest. “With the next major FritzOS, Fritz is already laying the groundwork for Wi-Fi 8 and has begun developing the next generation of Wi-Fi,” it states.
