Chinese manufacturer Lenovo is apparently planning a novel gaming handheld with a foldable screen that can serve as both a portable game console and a full-fledged Windows 11 laptop. This is according to an exclusive report by tech portal Windows Latest, which also shows leaked images of the rather unconventionally designed handheld. According to the report, Lenovo wants to present the so-called “Legion Go Fold Concept” as early as March 2, 2026, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. It is explicitly intended to be a concept device; whether and when it will actually go on sale is currently open.

According to the report, the core of the Legion Go Fold is a foldable POLED display that measures 7.7 inches when folded and grows to 11.6 inches when unfolded. This is said to result in four different usage modes. In classic handheld mode, wireless controllers are attached to both sides of the folded 7.7-inch display – comparable to Nintendo's Switch handhelds. In the so-called “Horizon Full-Screen Mode,” the screen can be unfolded horizontally, with the controllers also docking on the sides. This creates a handheld with an 11.6-inch screen.

Furthermore, it is said to enable a vertical split-screen mode, where one half of the display can be used for gaming and the other for streaming, for example. In the fourth mode – the “Expanded Desktop Mode” – the unfolded device is connected to an included wireless keyboard with a touchpad and then functions like a conventional notebook.

The controllers are also said to be flexible; similar to Lenovo's Legion Go 2 and Nintendo's Switch 2, the right controller is optionally said to serve as a vertical mouse. A small, built-in display is said to show performance data or function as a touchpad. In addition, there are customizable quick buttons.

In contrast to the Legion Go 2, Lenovo is no longer relying on AMD processors for its concept device. Instead, an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor is to be used. The report also mentions 32 GB of RAM and a 48 Wh battery. Whether these are the final specifications remains completely open given the concept nature.

Should the announcement at MWC actually take place, the chances of a market-ready product are not bad. For the ThinkBook Auto Twist Concept 2-in-1, Lenovo only needed a year to bring it to market as the ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist.
