Windows Terminal has reached preview version 1.25. Microsoft's terminal application for Command Prompt, PowerShell, WSL, and more now allows searching settings and offers advanced configuration options via a user interface.
Simultaneously with the release of the new preview version, version 1.24 is considered stable. Among other things, it offers extended language support in the command palette; it suggests keywords in English even if the language setting is different.

Preview 1.25: Settings now searchable
In the new preview version, developers can search settings. The search includes all built-in settings as well as additional ones like color schemes, profiles, or extensions. Some settings that can be applied to any profile may appear multiple times.

Action configuration via User Interface
In addition, the development team continues to work on transferring settings from the JSON file to the settings UI. A new editor called Actions is now available there. In this editor, developers can specify in more detail, for example, what should happen with New Window and which key bindings exist for actions.
For a visual unification of Microsoft tools, the terminal now uses the Dark Modern and Light Modern color schemes, which have been known since Visual Studio Code 1.78.
All further information on Windows Terminal Preview 1.25 is available on Microsoft's developer blog. The new preview version can be obtained via the Microsoft Store, GitHub repository, or WinGet.
