AMD's Ryzen AI Embedded P100 processor series is similar to the Ryzen AI 400 mobile CPU family but targets embedded systems. It combines general-purpose x86 processor cores (Zen 5) with a relatively powerful integrated graphics unit (IGP), a neural processing unit (NPU) with 50 TOPS, and large DDR5 or LPDDR5X main memory. This is complemented by high-performance I/O interfaces such as PCI Express 4.0, USB4/Thunderbolt 4, and DisplayPort or HDMI for up to four 4K displays or twice 8K/120 Hz.

According to AMD, several partner companies such as Congstar, Kontron, and Advantech will be showcasing motherboards and computing modules with the Ryzen AI Embedded P100 at the Embedded World 2026 trade fair in Nuremberg. The fair takes place from March 10th to 12th. The processors are suitable for applications such as medical imaging technology, robotics, self-driving transport systems (Physical AI), and control and monitoring computers with AI functions. The latter are often referred to as Edge AI in industry jargon. AMD's embedded processors are also found in numerous slot machines due to their relatively powerful GPU and numerous display outputs.

Not all variants of the Ryzen AI Embedded P100 are available yet; production for some will only start in the third quarter. AMD had already announced the Ryzen AI Embedded P100 with four or six CPU cores in January. The versions with 8, 10, or 12 cores are truly new now.

The AMD Ryzen AI Embedded P100 series processors have up to 12 CPU cores. On the graphics side, there is the full configuration with 16 Compute Units or eight Work Group Processors (WGPs). This corresponds to 1024 shaders.

AMD does not yet specify the exact mix of Zen 5 and Zen 5c cores in the individual Ryzen AI Embedded P100 models. The Ryzen AI 400 has a maximum of four Zen 5 cores, with the rest being Zen 5c type.

In the second half of the year, AMD plans to release the Ryzen AI Embedded X100 with up to 16 Zen 5 processor cores. The Ryzen AI Embedded P100 competes with embedded versions of the Intel Core Ultra 300 “Panther Lake.”
