The AI provider Perplexity AI has unveiled "Perplexity Health", a new service that combines personal health data from wearables, apps, and patient records. The service is intended to answer questions about well-being based on this data – for example, about heart rate trends or training plans. Initially, Perplexity Health will be available for subscribers in the USA.
Perplexity Health is designed to connect directly with services like Apple Health, Fitbit, and Withings to incorporate their data. According to Perplexity, electronic patient records from more than 1.7 million healthcare providers also serve as further data sources. A personalized dashboard will visualize personal health developments.
In combination with the "Perplexity Computer" AI agent platform introduced at the end of February, the service is capable of creating tailored plans, for example for marathon training or dietary recommendations, based on fitness data and laboratory values, among other things. Pro and Max subscribers in the USA will be the first to get access, with other regions and user groups to follow. Those who wish can join a waitlist.

The service is "not intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent diseases or other conditions, and is not a substitute for professional medical advice." Perplexity advises speaking with a doctor before using the service. Similar services have recently been announced by Microsoft and OpenAI. However, according to a study, OpenAI's service ChatGPT Health has not performed well so far and has even given dangerous advice. Study results for Copilot Health are expected to be published soon, according to Microsoft.
