Up to $150: Raspi prices rise again
Most variants of the Raspberry Pi 4 and 5 will become more expensive. The Raspi 5 4 GB, for example, will increase to 100 euros.

Raspi boss Eben Upton announces another round of price increases for many single-board computers, compute modules, and keyboard PCs. It is the second since February. This is explicitly not an April Fool's joke. The reason is the continued rise in prices for the soldered LPDDR4 RAM.
Among the single-board computers, according to the announcement, all Raspberry Pi 4 and 5 models with at least 4 GB of RAM are affected. The 4 GB versions will become $25 more expensive, which translates to just under 26 euros including VAT (not included in US prices). The Raspi 4 with 4 GB will cost between 78 and 90 euros in Germany. A Raspi 5 with 4 GB will cost at least 100 euros.

| Raspberry Pi AI HAT+ | $50 | |
In addition, prices will increase depending on storage capacity. The top-of-the-line Raspi 5 model with 16 GB of RAM will become $100 more expensive. The keyboard PC Raspberry Pi 500+ now costs $150 more. In addition to the increased RAM costs, there are higher prices for the 256 GB SSD.
For Compute Modules 4, 4S, and 5, prices for all memory configurations will increase. The increases range from $11.25 to $100.
Older models like the Raspi 3 and Zero 2 W, which still use LPDDR2 RAM, are spared. According to the manufacturer, they have sufficient stock of this memory type and are not dependent on new purchases.

Raspi 4 comes with 3 GB RAM
As a bridging model, Raspberry Pi Plc. is launching a 3 GB version of the Raspi 4, with a recommended retail price of just under $84 (approx. 86 euros). Since only the 4er-Raspi appears in such a configuration, the manufacturer likely solders two 1.5 GB chips on the new variant with double-sided assembly. There is no double-sided assembly variant for the 5er-Raspi.
Upton, meanwhile, promises to lower prices again as soon as memory costs fall. However, it is unclear when this will happen.
