Amazon's new e-readers, Kindle Scribe and Kindle Scribe Colorsoft, are coming to Germany; both devices will be available at Amazon from April 8th. The announcement was made over half a year ago; in the USA, the new Kindle Scribe has been available since December.
In addition to reading books, the Kindle Scribe is also designed for notes. It is already Amazon's most expensive e-reader, but the two new models take it a step further. While the first Kindle Scribe in the 32 GB storage version regularly cost 440 euros, Amazon is charging at least 520 euros for the new model. With 64 GB of storage, the new model costs even 570 euros.
Even more expensive is the Kindle Scribe Colorsoft, the upcoming color version of the e-reader: prices start at 650 Euros for the 32 GB version. Those who need 64 GB of storage will have to pay Amazon 700 euros. Amazon had already announced the prices when it was introduced last fall. Both models come with a stylus.
11-inch displays
Compared to the previous version of the Kindle Scribe, the two new models stand out with a new form factor: they have a larger 11-inch display and narrower bezels. Both models are 5.4 mm thick and weigh 400 grams. Thanks to the new quad-core processor, they should also work faster than their predecessor. Writing on the display should also feel more natural thanks to a new surface structure.

The Kindle Scribe Colorsoft basically follows the design of the Kindle Scribe but has a color screen thanks to “Colorsoft display technology.” According to Amazon, the technology works with a color filter and light guides with nitride LEDs, which should optimize colors without blurring details. A new rendering engine is also used.
In addition, the new Scribe models are said to offer extended productivity features: users can import documents via Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive and export annotated PDFs. Notes can also be transferred to OneNote. AI features enable searching in notebooks in natural language and simple summaries.
