Microsoft Teams: Pasting via right-click no longer works
A faulty Edge update has disabled the paste function in the Microsoft Teams context menu. Keyboard shortcuts still work.

Anyone trying to paste content via right-click in Microsoft Teams on the desktop will be looking at a blank: the paste option in the context menu is grayed out and cannot be selected. This affects both Windows and macOS users of the desktop application in version 26072.519.4556.7438.
Numerous IT administrators are reporting the problem in forums. Users are reportedly having trouble pasting images, text, and URLs using keyboard shortcuts. Reinstalling the app or clearing the cache did not help. As can be seen from the associated thread on Microsoft Q&A, Microsoft has now identified the cause: a code regression in a recent update of the Microsoft Edge browser triggered the error.
The good news: the clipboard itself is not affected. Keyboard shortcuts such as Ctrl+V on Windows or Command+V on macOS still work. Pasting as plain text using Ctrl+Shift+V is also possible. Alternatively, users can switch to the web version of Teams in their browser, which is not impacted by the issue.

Fix in gradual rollout
Microsoft confirmed the problem on April 16 and cited the Edge update as the cause. A fix is now being rolled out gradually.
