Eloshapes: Mouse comparison gets 3D models
A free website allows comparison of hundreds of mouse shapes. New: 3D scans with all-around views.

Eloshapes is expanding its PC mouse comparison with 3D scans of many models. Interested parties can check there how the housing shapes of different mice differ. This is particularly useful if you have a favorite shape and are considering a new purchase. Users can, for example, compare their current mouse with newer alternatives.
Previously, Eloshapes offered on its website only 2D silhouettes from above and the side for almost 1500 mice. However, the silhouettes do not reveal how steeply, for example, the housing drops off on the sides. The 3D models are now available for more and more mice. Users can switch between different views. Mice can be added via the search at the top.

With the 3D scans, a full view is possible. The navigation bar contains six standard perspectives. Users can set whether the different mice should be displayed next to each other (“Split”) or superimposed (“Stack”). In the latter case, only the outermost housing parts are visible by default. Small mice disappear within the models of larger variants.

While you can switch to a view with only the outlines, the spatial perspective is lost. The dot on the underside indicates where the mouse sensor is located.
The operator is adding more and more 3D models; for some mice, only 2D silhouettes are available so far. Most models are created with a Creality CR-Scan Raptor (starting from 909,03 €). Eloshapes has become so popular since its founding in 2022 that many manufacturers send in their mice for scans or provide their own 3D data. Usage is free.
