The lightest current Thinkpad gets an update: Lenovo is updating the Thinkpad X13 with new Intel processors or AMD's latest revision. Available are Core Ultra 300 alias Panther Lake with up to 16 CPU cores and Pro versions of the Ryzen AI 400 with up to 12 CPU cores, each flanked by up to 64 GByte of soldered LPDDR5X-8533 RAM.

Lenovo is making the Thinkpad X13 Gen 7 a few grams lighter: According to the data sheet, the lightest configuration weighs 930 instead of the previous 960 grams. This value applies to Intel versions with the smaller 41 Wh battery and without the optional 5G mobile radio module. A stronger 54.7 Wh battery is available on request.

The AMD versions are minimally heavier with a minimum weight of 953 grams, but use the same magnesium alloy housing. The remaining specifications are also identical.

On the connectivity side, all versions of the Thinkpad X13 Gen 7 come with two Thunderbolt 4 (as USB-C), HDMI 2.1, USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbit/s) Type A, and an audio combo jack. The battery and SSD can be replaced via the underside. There is also access to the slot for the mobile radio module.

Lenovo plans to start shipping the Thinkpad X13 Gen 7 in the course of this month. The starting price is 1599 Euros. Windows and Linux pre-installations will be available.
