The next big brand becomes a VR arena game: Ubisoft and EVA are launching a new virtual reality experience with "Rabbids: Color Chaos".

EVA, the French provider of location-based VR experiences, has licensed the Ubisoft brand “Rabbids” and developed a free-roaming multiplayer VR game. “Rabbids: Color Chaos” is now playable at dozens of locations worldwide. In Germany, EVA operates VR arcades in Cologne and Unna.
Color duel on 500 square meters
The game concept fits the always humorous and slightly chaotic “Rabbids” games: in a kind of VR paintball, two teams move simultaneously through an area of around 500 square meters and try to mark as much terrain as possible in their color. According to EVA, this should create a mix of physical activity, tactics, and easily accessible competition.

In these so-called “free-roam” or “location-based” VR experiences, several people share a real space, wear wireless VR headsets, and see each other as virtual figures. Since there is no artificial locomotion within the headset, the risk of motion sickness is also minimized.
For this purpose, EVA has entered into a partnership with ByteDance subsidiary Pico and has been using Pico 4 Ultra VR headsets in the enterprise version since September 2025. The company operates over 70 arenas in several countries, according to its statements, and has already guided more than one million people through its installations. In addition to games, EVA also develops its own competitive formats, such as an e-sports league. At the end of last year, the company introduced “EVA Karting GP,” a VR racing game with real electric karts that is strongly reminiscent of “Mario Kart”.
More and more big names in VR arenas
In recent months, there have been increasing reports of new VR arcades that repeatedly rely on big brands. For example, Zero Latency is working with CD Projekt on a “Cyberpunk 2077” VR experience, Sandbox VR is pursuing this approach with a “Stranger Things” experience, and Behaviour Interactive is planning an immersive “Blade Runner” project together with PHI Studio. For Ubisoft, “Rabbids: Color Chaos” is not its first foray into the VR arcade business. In 2022, the French publisher licensed its brand “FarCry” to EVA competitor Zero Latency.

Those who want to book a game of “Rabbids” in Cologne or Unna should expect prices starting from 20 euros per person, which may vary depending on the location, time, and team size. For frequent players, EVA offers monthly cancellable subscription passes starting at 59 euros. “Rabbids: Color Chaos” is suitable for ages ten and up, accommodates up to ten players simultaneously, and lasts about 40 minutes per game.
