AMD's official mini-PC costs 3999 US dollars
The Ryzen AI Halo mini-PC has a price tag. The system is expected to be available for pre-order from June. A CPU refresh will be released in parallel.

AMD has set a price for its Ryzen AI Halo mini-PC: the device with 128 GByte of RAM and a 2-TByte SSD costs 3999 US dollars. The price in Euros would be just under 4110 Euros including VAT, which is not included in US prices. AMD intends to accept pre-orders from June. However, the company does not reveal when delivery will begin.
The announcement was made at the Tech Trade Fair CES in January. AMD is using its fastest combination processor in the Ryzen AI Halo: the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 395, also known as Strix Halo, with 16 Zen 5 cores and 40 graphics compute units.
With pre-installed software stack and AI tools, the Ryzen AI Halo is a direct competitor to Nvidia's similarly priced DGX Spark mini-PC. Both are intended as AI devkits. Unlike the competition, however, no PC manufacturers seem to be launching their own Halo devices. Meanwhile, AMD is taunting Nvidia: Unlike the Spark models, the Ryzen AI Halo will be available with Windows as an alternative to Linux.

Mini refresh with more memory
At the same time as the mini-PC, AMD is officially announcing the Gorgon Halo processor refresh, led by the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495. As with the normal Ryzen AI 400, the improvements are manageable. AMD is only giving the top model 100 MHz more CPU clock speed, and the AI unit's clock speed is increased by ten percent. This allows it to perform up to 55 trillion instead of 50 trillion calculations per second (Tops).

The two smaller models, Ryzen AI Max 490 and 485, have the same specifications as their predecessors. The only advantage there is the official support for the 400 series of up to 192 GByte LPDDR5X-RAM instead of 128 GByte. For this, AMD is likely using memory chips with 24 instead of 16 Gbit capacity.
AMD plans to release a Ryzen AI Halo with Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 later, presumably with 192 GByte RAM. Price and availability date are currently unknown.
