„GTA 6“ is scheduled for release on November 19

Take-Two has confirmed November 19 as the release date for „GTA 6“. For the current year, net bookings of up to $8.2 billion are expected.

“Grand Theft Auto 6” will be released on November 19, 2026, for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Take-Two Interactive has now confirmed this again. Because “GTA 6” is, on the one hand, the messiah of the gaming industry and, on the other hand, has been postponed several times, the renewed release confirmation is not entirely unimportant for the industry. Many game companies plan the releases of their games in such a way that they absolutely do not get in the way of “GTA 6.” Others hope that the success of the game developed by Rockstar will be reflected in more consoles sold and could accordingly boost other titles.

Take-Two confirmed the release date on Thursday with the publication of its quarterly figures. The past fiscal year 2026 (ending March 31) closed with net bookings of US$6.72 billion – an increase of 19 percent compared to the previous year and slightly above its forecast of $6.65 to $6.7 billion.

Record year expected

For the current fiscal year 2027 (ending March 31, 2027), Take-Two now forecasts net bookings of $8 to $8.2 billion, primarily thanks to “GTA 6” – around 20 percent more than in the past fiscal year. CEO Strauss Zelnick described “GTA 6” in the earnings call as “the most anticipated entertainment property of all time” and announced that Rockstar Games will launch its marketing campaign in the summer of 2026.

“GTA Online” remains strong

According to Take-Two, almost 230 million units of “Grand Theft Auto 5” have been sold to date. Take-Two generates sustainable revenue primarily through “GTA Online,” the live service component of the open-world game, which is financed through expansions and microtransactions.

A PC version of “GTA 6” has not yet been announced. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently justified the lack of a PC version by stating that the target group plays on consoles. At the same time, he admitted that PCs have gained importance as a gaming platform. It is considered likely that a PC version is planned at least in the medium term.
