Creative Assembly announces "Alien: Isolation 2"
Creative Assembly and Sega have announced the survival horror sequel "Alien: Isolation 2". It will be released for PC, PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox.

Creative Assembly is developing a successor to the highly acclaimed survival horror game “Alien: Isolation”. The studio and publisher Sega showed the first trailer for “Alien: Isolation 2” at the Summer Game Fest.
“Alien: Isolation 2” is set on a stormy colony world. Players will traverse the planet's surface and explore the Weyland-Yutani outpost Kurosaki Station. An alien lurks there once again, and they must seek safety with new tools and tactics, Creative Assembly writes in a statement.

New protagonist, new setting
Part 2 has a new protagonist and a self-contained story, so you don't have to have played the first installment. In “Alien: Isolation”, released in 2014, players controlled Amanda Ripley on the Sevastopol space station. She is the daughter of Ellen Ripley, the heroine of the cinematic film “Alien”.
The original was almost entirely about stealth. With a motion tracker and self-made tools, Amanda Ripley escaped a nearly invincible alien that tracked her steps and searched hiding places. Creative Assembly intends to stick to this principle: no wild action shooting, but atmospheric horror.
The Xenomorph is said to act more intelligently than in its predecessor. Creative Director Al Hope promises a further developed isolation experience: “We're making the eponymous killer smarter, the environment harsher and the chance of survival slimmer.”

Release date still open
“Alien: Isolation”, released in 2014, is considered one of the most acclaimed horror games of the 2010s. Critics particularly highlight the dense atmosphere and the meticulously detailed settings. Creative Assembly is part of Sega and is otherwise best known for the strategy series “Total War”. It is currently also developing “Warhammer 40k: Total War” and “Medieval 3: Total War”.
Creative Assembly had already confirmed in 2024, on the tenth anniversary of the original, that a successor to “Alien Isolation” was in the works. However, Creative Assembly and Sega have not yet announced a release date. “Alien: Isolation 2” will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. A version for the Nintendo Switch 2 is also planned.
