Gemini app reports connection errors and outages

Users of Google's smartphone AI app Gemini are currently reporting increased outages. The app is either not responding or displays error messages when commands are given.
Google confirms errors
On X, Reddit, and Downdetector, users are reporting that the Gemini app is not working or is experiencing connection problems. According to Downdetector and Alle Störungen, the issue seems to have been ongoing since around 12 PM today.
On devices at our editorial office, the Gemini app is also not responding to input and displays the error message: “An error occurred – please try again (1076)”. Other users are reportedly seeing error 1099, according to Reddit.

On the status dashboard for Google Workspace, the company confirms issues with Gemini. It states: “We are experiencing an issue with Gemini beginning on Wednesday, 2026-06-10 03:26 PDT. Our engineering team continues to investigate the issue.”

According to another Google status page, AI Studio and the Gemini API are running without errors. The last error occurred on June 7th.
Gemini in the browser is still working
Users whose Gemini app is currently experiencing issues can still use the AI by accessing the chatbot in a web browser. A test of Gemini in the Chrome browser showed no limitations.
