AMD senkt Athlon-64- und Sempron-Preise [Update]
Der Hersteller senkt die Preise fĂĽr Desktop-PC-Prozessoren um bis zu 27 Prozent.

Der Preiskampf zwischen AMD und Intel drückt zwar die Margen der beiden Prozessor-Streithähne, freut aber die PC-Käufer: Um bis zu 27 Prozent senkt AMD die Listenpreise für einige Prozessoren der Baureihen Athlon 64 X2, Athlon 64 und Sempron für Desktop-Rechner.

[Update:] Offenbar gehen die Preissenkungen der bevorstehenden Einführung eines Athlon 64 X2 6000+ voraus, der mit 3 GHz Taktfrequenz und 2 x 1 MByte L2-Cache bei einigen Händlern aufgetaucht ist.

Nach Spekulationen will AMD in naher Zukunft neue 65-Nanometer-Einzelkernprozessoren mit 45Â Watt Leistungsaufnahme vorstellen. Im zweiten Quartal sollen demnach noch weitere 35-Watt-Doppelkerne kommen.
Morgen gibt AMD die Ergebnisse fĂĽr das vierte Quartal 2006 und das gesamte Jahr 2006 bekannt.
